Our Positions on Health

1.Transferring the health sector to the heavy and unhealthy occupations category.

2.Strengthening the Greek pharmaceutical industry, which will be linked to the field of University research.

3.Full utilisation of our country's botanical data at a therapeutic level — something that until now was done by foreign pharmaceutical industries (Big Pharma).

4.Promoting the Greek healing art through the study of the data available so far.

5.Full staffing of Hospitals and medical centres, aiming to reduce appointment waiting times.

6.Every act of profiteering within medical and nursing institutions will be treated as a felony, with its criminal prosecution taking precedence over other offences.

7.Every non-Greek who is hospitalised in a Greek hospital or seeks medical care shall prepay part of the costs until full payment. Otherwise the costs will be paid by their Embassy.

8.The mass transfer of patients from third countries for any medical procedure is prohibited. An exception may exist following an interstate agreement due to emergencies.

9.Rehiring of all hospital staff who were suspended and compensation at five times the wages they were deprived of. The costs will be covered by the confiscation of the property of the board members of medical associations, MPs, government officials who were complicit even through their silence, and by the property of the boards of trade unions that failed in their duty towards healthcare workers, as well as of academics and journalists who were on the front line of propaganda.

10.Reducing the percentage of patient co-payment for medicines and tests to 5%.

11.In the procurement of materials and medicines needed by the National Health System, priority goes to the Greek pharmaceutical industry.

12.Procurements will be carried out centrally through competitive tenders, electronically by the Ministry of Health.

13.Reform of the payroll of hospital staff.
