Our Positions on Agricultural Production

1.Creation of an Agricultural Registry.

2.Creation of a land bank from public and private plots, which may be granted for long periods for agricultural exploitation without, however, changing the ownership status.

3.Establishment at the Ministry of Rural Development of a special information and statistical data analysis department regarding the volume and type of agricultural products imported, as well as those produced in the country, together with the recording of the trend concerning demand or not, by season and over time, in a way accessible to farmers or to those thinking of investing in primary production.

4.Creation of 2-year higher-education schools in the prefectures judged capable of developing significant agricultural production, with guidance and support of their agricultural-livestock enterprises.

5.Establishment of special offices at local government level to support the utilisation of primary production resources.

6.Linkage of livestock breeders with local veterinary services and agro-livestock schools, at no cost to them.

7.State education for the creation of livestock cooperatives and units.

8.Increase of livestock production with the aim of covering 100% of domestic market demand.

9.Coverage of the nutritional needs of the Armed Forces, Hospitals, nursing homes, orphanages and schools of the Country exclusively from Greek production.

10.Subsidy (equipment) for young farmers and livestock breeders.

11.Interest-free loans for the purchase of equipment aimed at automating and reducing production costs, for livestock breeders.

12.Creation of animal genetic improvement centres in every prefecture.

13.Public seed bank with notable local varieties.
